DIGITAL STORY TELLING
Digital story telling includes everything from games to interactive stories. There are special aspects to this type of story telling. When one gets into the realm of the Avatar or 2nd Life there are myriad intriguing possibilities. Imagination is the coin of the realm and the source of creation.
An example of the far-reaching changes afoot would be the creation of an Avatar. One may choose from a list of characteristics and accouterments to create the aspects of a character and customize their own dimension.
Up until now we have admired the writer, wanted to be the writer, even projected some worship onto whomever could use the word to create story. Now YOU TOO can participate. You can be free enough to create story, to interact in the unfinished story. Who one actually is has become enough or who one pretends to be, who one creates as an alter ego, is more than enough to do business in imaginary worlds.
Let’s hear it loud and clear for the VIRTUAL WORLD. I am exceedingly excited about the new opportunities that come with Digital Story Telling.
I am not yet conversant with all the genres arising and the new forms and how precisely to coach them. I am getting up to speed through exposing myself to the data and distilling that data. I would say I am currently able to have the initial conversations.
